Mt Martha Basketball Club (MMBC) is a community-based, not for profit organisation, established in 2007. The Club was built on principles of inclusivity and respect and connects players with teams to promote health, wellbeing, friendships and fun. The Club has grown steadily and now supports over 450 participants across all age groups. The Club supports players of all abilities in teams that enable optimal participation.

Fair-Play

The MMBC strives to provide a fun, safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all those involved. The Club promotes a positive, encouraging atmosphere for all participants, including players, coaches, team managers and supporters. The Club prides itself on courtesy and respect for opponents and game officials including scorers and referees.

Development

The Club aims to support all participants including the volunteers, coaches and team managers who are the backbone of the Club. The Committee seeks to foster an environment in which all participants can thrive.

MMBC supports progression of players and coaches through development pathways to improve skills and achievement of aspirational goals. In under eight and under ten age groups, the Club supports all abilities team participation. From under twelve though to under twenty-one age groups, the Club will work with parents, coaches and team managers to build teams where the participants are placed for maximum support from beginners, through advancing to elite levels of play, whilst still ensuring that the fun aspect of playing basketball is the priority.

Governance

The Club is bound by the principles of Basketball Victoria and respects the rules and regulations of the Associations with which the Club affiliates.
